DOUBLE HEADLINER EVENT

Jon Steinberg & Keesha Brownie

Keesha Brownie is an energetic, multi-faceted performer. Making observations about her Jamaican roots and Canadian upbringing, she punctuates punchlines with act-outs, parody songs, and sometimes even backup dancers.

"Theatre is what really gave me the legs and the skeleton to do standup comedy because it's the same kind of art form, you're up there and you're vulnerable."
- Keesha Brownie, interview with Alexis Perikleous for CBC

Brownie earned a Canadian Comedy Award nomination for Best Female Stand-Up in 2015. From there, she has made a name for herself on a global scale. Brownie has graced the stage across Canada and the United States. She’s also performed in the Caribbean and the United Kingdom.

Jon Steinberg is a comedian who draws material from his unique and twisted view of the world. A perennial favourite on CBC radios the Debaters, 2014 has already been a big year for Jon, taping his second gala performance for the Winnipeg comedy festivals, as well as making appearances on the CTV sitcom Spun Out, Global’s medical drama Remedy, and embarking on his first European stand-up tour.

Jon has been entertaining audiences across North America for over a decade. He has been all over Canadian TV and has appeared at numerous festivals including the Just For Laughs festival.

“The next big star to break out of Canadian comedy.” -Russell Peters
